Crystal

Crystal first became involved with Make Them Smile when seeking educational assistance for her nephew. After Make Them Smile was able to assist her family, Crystal wanted to find a way to give back and help others in similar situations. She initially began volunteering her time taking phone calls and offering support to families and carers.

Once Make Them Smile had managed to acquire enough funds to purchase their first Respite Caravan in Mablethorpe, Crystal managed the booking system, liaising with families about their arrival, special requirements, activities on site and also being a 24 hour emergency contact for the unplanned teething problems that unfortunately happen.

Since then, Crystal is still a big part of Make Them Smile – just working in the background, but she is currently in her 2nd year at university studying Paramedic Science, which will provide a unique opportunity at providing holistic care and proactively advocate for children and adults and signpost and recommend services that will aid every unique individual.

Crystal feels a great sense of pride when she sees inabilities become abilities, because everyone deserves accessibility and a real chance to grasp life by the horns and LIVE.
