Hello, my name is Erica. I first reached out to Make Them Smile back in 2015/2016 when I was feeling lost and overwhelmed. My daughter has complex needs, and our family was in dire need of support. Make Them Smile provided not only emotional support but also practical assistance. They generously offered us much-needed respite by allowing us to use their respite home at Mabelthorpe, which gave our family a much-needed break.

In gratitude for the tremendous support we received, I decided to give back to this amazing charity. I offered to become a trustee and have proudly served in this role for the past eight years. During this time, I have seen firsthand the incredible impact that Make Them Smile has on families like mine.

My experiences have fuelled my passion for helping others. I am currently training to become a Level 3 Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo). Additionally, I have opened my own childminding service to support local families with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). I am dedicated to offering support and guidance to all families in need.

Supporting others and making a difference in their lives is my passion. I am committed to using my skills and experiences to help guide families and provide the support they need to thrive.
